Health Records are documents that contain information regarding health. This may include things such as records written by doctors, nurses and other health professionals, as well as vaccination records held by the individual or relatives.
Historically, the medium used for these records has been paper. But developments in the computer field and other technology areas have made possible the use of Health Records in other supports, based around computers.

The aim of this web site is to be a simple introduction to the concepts of Health Record, the different supports in which these can be found, and some of the implications of using an Electronic Health Record.
